Identification
The species reaches up to 100 cm in body length. Slender body, flattened and triangular head. Coloration is turquoise green with very fine black speckling on each scales. Two series of dark yellow bands on sides of back.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in South America, from south Colombia to North and central Bolivia, from the Guianas to extreme north Brazil and in eastern Brazil. Lives in lowland rainforests and wet forests, always near river or stream.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species isn’t believed to be threatened, even despite deforestation in parts of its range. It remains common for the time being.
