Identification
Slender-bodied viper with prehensile tail, reaching a total length of 97 cm. Broad triangular head. Coloration is bright emerald green with turquoise skin between scales and small turquoise or even yellow blotches. Yellowish eyes.
Range and habitat
This species occurs in Central America and is endemic to Mexico. It is only found in extreme south Oaxaca. Lives in cloud forests, and pine-oak forests near ravines, from 1000 to 1800 m.

Status : The species has a very small and fragmented range. Despite being protected by Mexican law, it’s vulnerable to habitat destruction.
