Identification
Adults can grow to around 1.50 meters in length, rarely more. Snout is blunt and head quite elongated with big eyes. Faint dark markings on head sides. Coloration is brown to greyish-brown, turning to orangish-red on last third of body.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Luzon (Philippines). Species found throughout Philippines and on Sulawesi. Occurrence in Borneo is doubtful. Lives in woodlands, open forests, suburban gardens.

Status : The species has a large range and can live in modified habitats, even near human settlements. It is sometimes persecuted but rarely caught for trade.
