Identification
Adults can grow up to 13 cm in length, females being smaller than males. Its tail is flattened and has small fringes on its sides, hence the species’ name. Coloration light green, turning yellow on tail, with small red dots on back.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the island of Madagascar, only occurring around a narrow coastal belt on the north-east. Usually found in coconut palms, often near roads and beaches.

Status : The species has a very small range which is heavily fragmented. Habitat destruction and illegal collection are localized threats.
