Identification
The longest known chameleon species, reaching 68 cm in length but more slender built than Parson’s chameleon. Warty ridges on snout. Coloration is dark green to brown with dark mottling, striping and white longitudinal band.

Range and habitat
This species is endemic to Madagascar and occurs in most parts of the Island, from sea level to 1300 meters. Lives in open dry and humid forests, savannas and forest edges.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species remains common in the wild so far but, if split into more than one species, could be re-assessed as threatened if population small.
