Identification
One of the biggest anole species, reaching a length of length of 16 cm for a weight of 90 g. Adults have a casqued head and a crest on back. Coloration variable, from brown to dark green with white markings on flanks and belly.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the island of Hispaniola and occurs both in Haiti and Dominican Republic. Lives in forests and other areas with trees.

Status : The species has a small range but seems to remain fairly common. Possibly threatened by habitat destruction.
