Identification
Adults can grow to a shell length of about 35 cm. Large triangular head with tube-like snout. Flat carapace with straight edges. Adult coloration brown with dark speckling and mottling. Juveniles have ocelli on shell and red neck sides.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, from southern Myanmar and Thailand to peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, greater Sundas and Palawan (Philippines). Lives in clear running water of rocky streams, usually upland.
