Identification
One of the smallest species of its genus with a carapace reaching 36 cm in length. Oval-shaped and flattened carapace. Coloration olive-brown to bright brown. Broad head with brownish-yellow spots.
Range and habitat
This species occurs in the Orinoco drainage in Venezuela and Colombia. Apparently also found in Rio Yari in Colombia. Lives in river swamps, small streams and ponds, often in heavily settled areas.

IUCN RED LIST : NOT LISTED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has yet to be assessed by IUCN Red List. It remains locally common but the fact that it lives in heavily settled areas makes it vulnerable to humane disturbance and habitat destruction.
