Identification
Leg span up to 16 cm, body length is about 7 cm, smaller for males. Cephalothorax and abdomen are black, legs are pink with dark tips. Long and numerous bright pink hairs covering legs and abdomen.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central America, and is endemic to Mexico, being found on the Pacific coast, in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco and Colima. Lives in subtropical dry forests in lowlands and foothills, to 1000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a very small range and is vulnerable to both overcollection and habitat loss. Its range isn’t yet fragmented though.
