Identification
Adults can reach about 9.7 cm in length. Black head and thorax with red head markings for this subspecies. Abdomen is beige-orange with black edges, more black for female on center of abdomen. Legs red-brown with black joints.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Sabah (Malaysian Borneo) in the Crocker range and Kinabalu area). Species found throughout Borneo and peninsular Malaysia. Lives in primary and secondary montane rainforests from 1100 to 2000 meters.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status isn’t assessed so far. It lives is higher montane areas which makes it less sensitive to habitat loss on a global scale.
