Identification
The species can reach a wingspan of 16 cm. Forewings black, hindwings bright yellow with very little black markings on edges. Females have row of black spots on hindwings and white stripes on forewing. Yellow abdomen.

Range and habitat
Subspecies found in southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. Species also occurs in most of western and central Indonesia. Lives in primary and old secondary forests, very rarely suburban gardens.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a large range and can withstand a bit of habitat alteration. Nonetheless, some endemic subspecies could be threatened.
