Identification
The species can reach 9 cm in wingspan. Underside brown. Upperside mostly bright iridescent green with a broad black band on both wings. Forewings tip is iridescent. Hindwings with broad black margins, iridescent green spots and long tails.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Java. The species is Endemic to Indonesia, occurring from Java to lesser Sundas and Moluccas. Lives in primary and old secondary forests, forest edges.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species only occurs on islands and is dependant on forests for its survival making it likely threatened in parts of its range by habitat loss.
