Identification
Adults can grow to a wingspan of 9.5 cm. Black body with transversal clear stripes. Wings black with elongated and spatulate tail on hindwings. Wide horizontal white-creamy band and rows of white and yellow spots on hindwings.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs from south Thailand and Myanmar to Malaysia, Borneo, Java and Sumatra. Species also found on Palawan and Nias islands. Lives in open forests, mangrove areas and tropical forests.

Status : The species has a relatively large range but can be vulnerable to habitat loss, especially on islands and some populations could be endangered.
