Identification
The species can reach a wingspan up to 10 cm. Underside creamy yellow with black veins and orange-red spots. Upperside black with broken yellow lines and clear “peppering” on forewing base. Orange and blue spots on hindwings.
Range and habitat
Subspecies found from Peninsular Malaysia to Indonesia and New Guinea. Species occurs from Arabian peninsula to Australia and expanding its range. Lives in open woodlands, forest edges, gardens , cities, up to 2100 m.
