Identification
Colonies can grow to over 2 meters in diameter. The central part is composed of fused horizontal branches. Colony’s outside branches are growing vertical with small corallites. Coloration beige-brown to green with clear branch tips.

Range and habitat
The species lives in the Indo-Pacific area, from Red Sea and East Africa, to North Japan, South Australia and east to French Polynesia. Lives in upper and lower reef slopes, protected from wave action, to 25 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a large range but is probably at least locally threatened by coral reef destruction due to climate change and pollution.
