Identification
This anemone’s disk diameter can reach 20 cm. The columnar body is usually burried in the sand but can grow to about 20 cm high. Flat disk with about 200 small tentacles. Coloration variable, from sandy to greenish with radiating stripes.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in Western Atlantic Ocean from Bermuda, Bahamas and Florida to Brazil. Also found around Canary and Madeira islands in East Atlantic. Lives on sandy and muddy bottoms, from depths around 3 to 20 meters.

Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed and the species seems to be locally abundant. It is occasionally collected for the trade but this isn’t a threat.
