Identification
Large sea anemone reaching 40 cm in diameter and 20 cm in tentacle length. Large tentacles, often with swollen tips. Tentacles can be greenish-blue, pink, reddish or white with pink tips, often with very light stripes. Body column reddish.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in western Atlantic Ocean, from south Florida and through Caribbean islands and Gulf of Mexico to Brazil (south Sao Paulo). Lives around exposed reefs, lagoons, marine grasslands, to 30 meters deep.

Status : This species is very common and has a large range. It can live in a wide variety of habitat. Effects of climate change on this species are yet unknown.
