Identification
Large anemone species with oral disk diameter growing to 20 cm. Easily recognized with its long and think blue translucent tentacles with clear spiral-like whorls and warts. Oral disk color from greenish-brown to bluish.
Range and habitat
This species occurs in western Atlantic Ocean, from Florida and Bermuda through the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, south to Venezuela. Found around coral reefs, rocky areas with sandy bottom, often near sea grass.

Status : This species is very common within its range and no threats are known. It is occasionally collected and sold in the trade, but in small numbers.
