Identification
Bell diameter reaching up to 1 meter, but usually smaller. Bell coloration distinctive golden-brown to orange with darker edges and no other markings. Oral arms long, frilly and white, numerous dark brown external arms visible.
Range and habitat
The species is found in the eastern Pacific Ocean from Canada to Mexico. Found in subtropical and temperate waters, up to 25°C. Pelagic species, occurs down to depths of 200 m.

Status : Not assessed, common to abundant in most of its range. This species, like all Chrysaora, is a source of type II collagen for curing joint pain.
