Identification
Bell diameter reaching up to 70 cm, tentacle length can exceed 100 cm. Bell coloration is white, slightly transparent, with radial pattern of purplish stripes, not always visible. External and oral tentacles light brown. Oral tentacles frilly.

Range and habitat
The species is found in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to California. Lives in subtropical waters with temperatures going between 14 and 25°C. Pelagic species, occurs down to depths of 200 m.

CITES : Not listed
Status : Not assessed, common to abundant in most of its range. This species, like all Chrysaora, is a source of type II collagen for curing joint pain.
