Identification
Small crab reaching 1.5 to 2 cm shell width. Legs brown or red with yellow tips. Shell is clear with a small spine on each sides and black spotting for males. Display claw with red-orange base and articulation and cream-yellow tips.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area and occurs around coastal regions of southern China, from Hong Kong to Fuzhou. Possibly found in Taiwan. Lives in brackish water areas, mudflats, mangroves and estuaries.

Status : This species doesn’t have a large range but lives in a few protected areas, especially around Hong Kong. Status not assessed at this point.
