Identification
Body length of 145 cm, shoulder height of 80 cm, weight of 115 kg. Unmistakable. Very broad and flat face with prominent warts on cheeks. Long black and white ear-tufts. Color is bright rufous-brown with white dorsal stripe.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in western and central Africa, from Senegal to North West Uganda and east DR Congo, south to extreme north Angola. Lives in rainforests and gallery forests, usually near swamp and river margins.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species remains common in most of its range but could become threatened by overhunting for bush-meat and food.
