Identification
Body length of 130 cm, shoulder height of 75 cm, weight of 120 kg. Similar to P. africanus but smaller in size, with tips of warts usually drooping and tip of ears pointed backwards. Body hairs are lighter in color and shorter.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Africa, in north-west and south Somalia, East Ethiopia and east Kenya. Lives in arid bushlands, scrublands, grasslands and semi deserts.

Status : This species remains locally common in its range but declined have been noted because of competition with livestock and overgrazing.
