Identification
Body height of 6 meters, weight of 1930 kg. This subspecies has beige-brown ground color with large brown blotches with clearer contours. Lower part of legs are white. Head darker with large horns for males (up to 5 horns noted).
Range and habitat
The species occurs patchily from Niger and Cameroon to Uganda and Kenya. This subspecies lives in south Sudan, north Uganda and west Kenya. Found in savannas and open woodlands, always with acacia trees.

Status : The species is highly threatened in the wild and some subspecies with strongly isolated populations will go extinct if unprotected.
