Identification
Body length of 350 cm, shoulder height of 180 cm, weight of 500 g. Pretty heavy body, two humps on back, large head. Coloration mostly dark brown to beige-brown. Long dark hairs on first half of body and humps.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs as domesticated livestock in deserts of central and south Asia. Species occurs in the wild in north-west China and Mongolia. Lives in rocky and sandy deserts with scattered vegetation.

Status : The wild subspecies is almost extinct and only occurs as four isolated populations. Most living camels today are domestic forms.
