Identification
140 cm body length, shoulder height of 91 cm, weight up to 75 kg. Backward-oriented thick ark-shaped horns. Coloration grayish-blue with dark forehead and almost black breast. Black line on lower flanks and legs, whitish belly.

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in West & North-West China. The species is also found in the Himalayas from north Pakistan to North Myanmar. Lives in grassy areas and more arid landscapes in high montane areas, usually near steep cliffs, from 1200 to 5500 meters.

CITES : Appendix III
Status : Overall, it’s one of the commonest wild sheep in China. In other places, poaching is cause for local declines. Most populations are unmonitored.
