Identification
Body length of 195 cm, shoulder height of 125 cm, weight of 240 kg. Very long pointed and nearly straight ridged horns. Color is sandy-cream to grey. Black markings on legs, belly, back and face are more extensive than other species.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in southern Africa, from Namibia and Botswana to Zimbabwe, south to western half of South Africa (except far south). Lives in open arid grasslands, dunes and arid bush savanna.

Status : This species has a large range lying mostly in private land and protected areas. Some of its populations in the wild are increasing.
