Identification
Body length of 135 cm, shoulder height of 91 cm, weight of 45 kg. Horns curved backwards. Sandy brown coloration with white lower flanks, belly, rump and throat. Black eye band. Subspecies with light and dark brown forehead

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Eritrea. Species found from north Sudan to Eritrea, north Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia. Lives in dry hilly steppes with scattered Acacia thickets.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix I
Status : This species has gone through worrying decline because of loss of habitat, mostly because of grazing and conversion for agriculture. Also hunted.
