Identification
Body length of 68 cm, shoulder height of 35.5 cm, weight of 3.9 kg. Very small antelope with thin legs, small pointed horns and a long proboscis-like nose. Pelage is light grey-beige with beige-brown legs. White circle around eyes.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Africa, from Somalia and south Ethiopia to north-east Uganda and north Kenya. Subspecies found from south-east Sudan and Ethiopia to north Kenya. Lives in arid and semi-arid thorn-bush savannas.

Status : This species seems to remain fairly common to locally very common in its range. It occurs in many protected areas.
