Identification
Body length of 70 cm, shoulder-height of 38 cm, weight of 12 kg. Fairly small duiker with hunched back and short legs. Very small horns. Black face with brown cheeks and white chin. Neck and flanks rufous brown, rest of fur black.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in western and central Africa, from Senegal to south-west Sudan and north-west Uganda. Lives in savanna woodlands with dense shrubs and bushes, often near water.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species remains fairly common in legally protected parts of its range. Outside, it’s threatened by conversion of land for agriculture and hunting.
