Identification
Body length of 135 cm, shoulder-height of 57 cm, weight of 26.9 kg. Lighter bodied than C. dorsalis. Head mostly rufous without black markings and with conspicuous hair tuft on forehead. Body color rufous with dark rump, clear belly.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in West Africa, from south Cameroon, east to western Central African Republic, south to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Forest specialist, found in lowland moist forests, rarely secondary forest.

Status : This species is widespread and fairly common in most of its range. Biggest threat is illegal snare hunting that is unsustainable for this species.
