Identification
Body length of 46 cm, tail length of 45 cm, weight of 1,9 kg. Females are grey-brown with buffy cheek lines and chestnut-brown breast. Males entirely black except for yellow-orange facial disk. Black naked face, very fluffy tail.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America and is endemic to northern Brazil, north of Amazon river and on both sides of Rio Negro, east to Faro. Lives in mature and secondary forests, forest fragments, flooded forests, to 1000 m

Status : This species is common around its range and its habitat remains fairly intact so far, outside big cities. Habitat fragmentation is known in some places.
