Identification
Body length of 48 cm, tail length of 42 cm for a weight up to 1 kg. Variable coloration but usually mostly gray to gray-brown base color, flanks being sometimes browner. White to beige breast and belly. White markings around face.
Range and habitat
Small range in north Colombia and extreme north-western Venezuela near Lake Maracaibo and Sierra de Perija. Lives in primary and secondary lowland rainforest, also in coffee plantations.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species has a very small range and its populations are fragmented because of deforestation. It occurs in protected areas.
