Identification
Adults can grow to 83 cm in body length, 60 cm in tail length and a weight of 6.4 kg. Largest Chlorocebus species. Black face with white whiskers and supercilium. Grey fur, olive-brown crown. Light grey to white belly, grey hands.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in western and central Africa, from Ghana to Central African Republic, DR Congo, north-west Kenya and south Sudan. Lives in savannas, montane forests, open woodlands and forests near rivers.

CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is still fairly common within its large range. It is locally hunted and the Jebel Marra subspecies could be threatened by local conflicts.
