Identification
Body length of 54 cm, tail length of 72 cm, weight of 6.5 kg. Tail, back and forelimbs gray-black. Hindlimbs and lower flanks orange. Chest, chin, breast and inside of limbs white. Face shows grey whiskers and prominent orange ear tufts.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central Africa and is endemic to DR Congo, mostly between Congo, Lualaba, Sankuru, Lomami and Kasai rivers. Lives in many kinds of forests, including primary forests, swamp forests, to 500 m.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species has a large range but some of its populations around Lomami river are alarmingly declining because of habitat loss and hunting.
