Identification
Body length up to 65 cm, tail length of 76 cm, weight of 10 kg. Large but slender species. Black face with large whisker-like hair patches on cheeks. Limbs dark brown-grey, global fur dark brown-grey with white tail tip and white underside.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central Africa, from South-east Cameroon to north-east Gabon, east to DR Congo and Central African Republic. Lives in rainforests and seasonally flooded forests, near rivers.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a large range and occurs in protected areas. It is threatened locally by deforestation and hunting for bushmeat trade.
