Identification
Body length of 40.8 cm for a weight of 6.8 kg. Variable subspecies with conspicuous hair-cap on crown. Coloration either dark grey-brown to light beige with black belly and under-arms. Occasionally displays conspicuous white eyebrows.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia and is endemic to Borneo. This subspecies is found mostly in south-eastern quarter of the island (Indonesian part). Lives in primary and secondary humid evergreen forest.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix I
Status : This subspecies is more and more endangered by deforestation and forest burning for palm oil culture. Also targeted by poachers for local animal trade.
