Identification
12 cm in body length, 26 cm tail length, weight of 126 g. Orange-brown eyes. Pelage grizzled brown with beige tinge on flanks. White hairs on upper lips and chin, white ear patch. Long tail with large black tuft. Black circle around eyes.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Sulawesi island in central-Indonesia and only occurs on the far north-west parts, between Manado and Gorontalo cities. Lives in primary, secondary and mangrove forests, habitats with shrubby cover.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This recently described species is threatened mostly by habitat loss. Collection of specimens for trade needs to be monitored.
