Identification
Body length of 37 cm, tail length of 47 cm, weight of 1400 g. Naked pink area around eyes, blackish muzzle. Round head. Fur is mostly olive-green with clear throat and belly, brown to rufous arms, grey tail with black tip, olive cap.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America, from Guianas to north and north-east Brazil, around the Amazon river estuary. Lives in tropical rainforests, secondary, gallery, mangrove and swamp forest.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species is common around its range. It used to be captured for pet trade and laboratory experiments but it is now considered to be safe.
