Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 62 cm, tail length of 36 cm and a weight of 10.4 kg. Short and bushy ringed tail. Fur is grey. Black blotches on face, around eyes, white supercillium and cheek tufts. Black and white nose.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in the southern half of Texas and nearby northeast Mexico. The species occurs in North America, from central and south Canada to most of USA, south to Central America and Panama. Lives in a wide variety of habitats, always near water, including urban areas.
