Identification
Adults can grow to 53 cm in body length with a 39 cm long tail for a weight of less than 10 kg. Resembles a miniature Asian golden cat. Coloration either rich golden brown or dark grey-black, light yellow belly, faint markings on forehead.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia and is endemic to the island of Borneo, found both on the Malaysian and Indonesian sides. Lives in all kinds of forests in lowlands and mountains, mangroves.

Status : This species has apparently always been very rare and elusive and has seldom been sighted in the wild. Endangered by poaching and deforestation.
