Identification
Body length of 8.9 cm, wingspan of 150 cm, weight of 60 g. Ears are pointed and not very big. Lips are lined with warts, nose is leaf-shaped. Fur is uniform dark brown to almost black. Dark gray to black wings.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in most of Central America from Mexico and in south-America, west to Amazon south to Peru. Also Lesser and Greater Antilles, Bahamas. Lives in shrublands, open woodlands and forests.

Status : This species isn’t considered threatened at the moment as it has a large range and it is believed to be at least locally common.
