Identification
Small fruit-bat reaching a body length of 8 cm and a weight of 32 g. Elongated dog-like muzzle with upward-oriented tubular nostril. Fur is bright golden brown with a brighter collar. Wings are anthracite with conspicuous clear digits.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs from southern China to Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo. Species also found in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Java and various islands. Lives in lowland and foothill disturbed forests, plantations and suburban parks.

Status : The species has a large range and remains fairly common and adaptable. It is occasionally persecuted in countryside areas as a fruit-crop pest.
