Identification
Most of body ashy-blue, upper flanks with beige tinge. Yellow-edged vertical black band reaching pectoral fins. Blue-edged black tail peduncle, yellow tail without black and white edging.
Range and habitat
Western Indian Ocean, from Réunion and Mauritius, also known from Maldives. Found in rocky areas and drop-offs of reefs. Almost nothing known of its habitat preferences.

Status : The species is very rarely observed and seems to be globally uncommon. At this time, nothing is known about possible threats it faces. Extremely rare under human care, not bred.
