Identification
The species grows to 9 cm in length. Body color is chocolate brown. Find are clear, no black marking below pectoral fins. Bluish-white spots with slight dark halo on whole body, spots larger near body. Short light blue stripes around eyes.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area from East Africa to South Africa, east to Marquesas islands, north to South Japan, south to Lord Howe Island. Lives in clear lagoons and seaward reefs, to 30 meters deep.

Status : The species has a large range and is locally abundant. It could be locally threatened by habitat loss. Trade levels are likely minimal at this time.
