Identification
Adults can grow to 20 cm in length. Rounded belly, flattish back with conspicuous horn-like projections. White body covered with brown-orange wavy horizontal lines. Large brown areas on flanks, orange belly.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the south-east Indian Ocean, south of Australia, from Western Australia to Tasmania and New South Wales. Found on the continental shelf, around rocky shores, estuaries.

Status : The species can be quite common within its range but may be vulnerable to pollution, especially in estuaries.
