Notes : No subspecies known.
Identification
Silvery-grey to white. Whole body covered with an intricate network of brown-black lines forming labyrinth-like pattern. Belly much clearer and nearly patternless. Spotted tail with black edge.
Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific area, from India and Sri Lanka to at least Fiji and Marshall Islands. Found in coastal reef areas, also around mangroves when young.

Status : The species has a large range that has yet to be fully understood. It is rarely caught for the trade but its habitat is locally impacted by pollution, human activities and climate change.
