Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 16 cm. Coloration from reddish brown to dark purple-brown. Body covered with crowded light blue to white dots. Fins are spotless and with yellow tinge. Bright yellow eye-ring.
Range and habitat
The species lives in the Indian Ocean, from East Africa and South Africa to Andaman Sea, Christmas Island and Cocos Keeling Islands. Lives in coral and rocky reefs in shallow water areas, to 25 meters deep.
