Identification
Adults can grow to about 6 cm in length. Female is bigger than male. Forked tail fin. Fins dull yellow with black dots and edges. Body color dull yellow to light creamy beige with black tips to each flank scales. Dark brown spot on gill covert.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia and is endemic to the territory of Hong Kong and possibly (not sure) very nearby mainland China. Lives in slightly acidic freshwater streams in mountains and lowlands.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species’ status is unknown and remains to be assessed. It has a very small range and can be vulnerable to pollution and loss of habitat.
