Identification
The species can grow to 6.7 cm. Males have elongated anal fins. Fins mostly unspotted, with golden tips. Coloration from cream to brownish with faint longitudinal bar and clear vertical markings on flank scales. Dark snout bar and lips.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia and is endemic Peninsular Malaysia, being found in most of the northern and north-west parts of the country. Lives in fast-flowing forest streams with lots of vegetation.

Status : The species has a relatively big range but is impacted by deforestation and pollution of waters. The extent of its range is still being discussed.
